Build real colour harmonies from one base colour — complementary, analogous, triadic, tetradic, split complementary and monochromatic — plus tints, shades and a text or JSON export.

Harmonies are calculated in HSL by rotating the hue: complementary 180°, analogous -30°/0°/+30°, triadic 120°/240°, tetradic 90°/180°/270°, split complementary 150°/210°. Saturation and lightness stay unchanged, and the monochromatic row keeps the hue and saturation while stepping the lightness by -30, -15, 0, +15 and +30 points. Tints are mixed with white, shades with black, each in five steps and rounded per channel.
How the Palette Generator Builds Harmonies
Pick a base colour and the generator derives the standard colour-wheel relationships from it. Every harmony is calculated in HSL by rotating the hue and keeping saturation and lightness: complementary 180 degrees, analogous minus and plus 30 degrees, triadic 120 and 240 degrees, tetradic 90, 180 and 270 degrees, split complementary 150 and 210 degrees. The monochromatic row keeps hue and saturation and moves the lightness in five steps, so the colours stay in the same family. Below that you get five tints mixed with white and five shades mixed with black, which is what most interfaces need for hover states and borders. Each swatch shows its HEX value with a copy button, and the whole palette can be exported as plain text or as JSON. The tool calculates harmonies from the colour model; it does not read colours out of photos and does not check accessibility.
