Blank lines (empty or whitespace only) are ignored when looking for duplicates, and comparison is case-sensitive after trimming the ends of a line. The sentence count is an estimate: a run of . ! ? or … counts as one break.
What the Line Counter Counts
Paste text into the box and this counter analyses it immediately, while you type. It reports the total number of lines, how many lines contain something and how many are empty or only whitespace, the number of words, the characters with and without spaces, an estimated sentence count, the average word length, the longest line with its length and line number, and the lines that occur more than once. Characters are counted as Unicode code points, so an emoji counts as one character, and a text that ends with a line break counts one extra, empty line. Duplicate lines are compared after trimming the spaces at both ends and are case-sensitive; blank lines are ignored. The sentence count is an estimate: a run of . ! ? or … counts as one break, and decimal points such as in 3.14 are treated as breaks too. Nothing is uploaded and the whole analysis runs locally in your browser.
Was der Zeilen-Zähler zählt
